[1] The Snake. A poster depicting all Command+g employees and our fearless leaders. It's probably one of my favorite things I've ever made. Sometimes I imagine rolling a ball down the snake tube, scattering headshots like they're bowling pins.

OF DESIGN
This poster was created in conjunction with the quote posters below.
QUOTE POSTERS
These are 4 posters based around a design quote of choice. My quote is by Jennifer Morla.
In this first poster, the background body text is made up of all the quotes that we had to choose from. Click on the image and take a closer look.
This is my second option, created with cut paper and a little help from my friends.
I expressed the quote by cutting it out of paper, sewing it onto a jacket, and pasting it in glue, always with the same Neue Haas Grotesk.
The long brown paper thing that you see me standing next to was made out of old paper bags. I painted my quote in clear glue and sprayed water over it, revealing the previously invisible quote.
Of course, each of these solutions was informed heavily by mistakes made along the way.
I reached out to Jennifer Morla about providing a video addressed to my class to be played in critique. To my great delight, she responded! Unfortunately, we weren't able to connect in time, but having her reply to my request was a nifty and unexpected experience.
"Hi Emmitt,
Sorry for the delay in my response, I have been out of town. Will try to do this tomorrow. No promises but will do my best."
—Jennifer Morla
LGBTQ+ RIGHTS
Using data from Franklin and Marshall Global Reports, I created a visual representation of LGBTQ rights worldwide. Below the first image are close-up shots that highlight the physical alterations I made to the poster. I burned it with a lighter.
A large 3' x 2' piece, this hung on campus for a semester.
Click on the image and zoom in to see more detail.
The second poster is a data visualization map of bills and laws that restrict the teaching of LGBTQ+ topics in educational settings across the USA.
ORDINARY DAYS
Utilizing multiple motifs from the musical, this poster teases the production of the musical Ordinary Days.
Composer Adam Gwon commented on this poster on my Instagram, which was a lovely recognition on a piece that I am proud of.
Love this!
