STATEHOOD IDENTITY

A fresh and foundational brand identity for Vermont, based in craft and focused on residents.

BACKGROUND
In a class on design systems, students were tasked with creating a comprehensive brand identity and accompanying guidebook.
I chose my home state of Vermont, drawing on my personal knowledge and research to build a brand that connected with residents in a way unprecedented for a governing body. The project took 14 weeks, and I was the sole designer.

A brochure advertising Vermont's scenic byways. Pamphlets like this one are common to see at rest stops and local stores, and offer an excellent opportunity to establish consistent branding in print.

Stamps with art from Alden Bryan, Bread & Puppet Press, and Sabra Field, respectively. Stamps like these would be part of a commemorative run to promote the new Vermont state brand. Residents would be able to submit their own designs and have their art printed on personal stamps. No competition necessary!
